"The 5th International Conference on Frontiers in Applied Mechanics - 5thICFAM 2020" was held at iHarbour,Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an, Chinaon September 24, 2020. The conference was hosted by International Association of Applied Mechanics - IAAM and organized by Xi 'an Jiaotong University. Chairman of IAAM, Academician Dai Ning Fang of Beijing Institute of Technology, Vice President Tiejun Wang of Xi 'an Jiaotong University and more than 100 experts and scholars from more than 30 universities and research institutions at home and abroad attended the meeting offline or online, reported and communicated on the frontier development and orientation of applied mechanics. Dean Shen Shengping, Secretary Li Xiaoyue, Deputy Secretary Chen Yonghua, Vice President Lu Tongqing and some teachers and students representatives attended the meeting.
On the afternoon of September 24th, the opening ceremony of the Conference was held at iHarbor. Professor Liu Zishun, Secretary-General of International Applied Mechanics Association and executive Director of International Applied Mechanics Center, Xi 'an Jiaotong University, presided over the meeting as the President. Vice President Wang Tiejun of Xi 'an Jiaotong University and Academician Fang Daning of Beijing Institute of Technology attended the opening ceremony and delivered the opening speech.
